Stegra is demonstrating how renewable electricity can be transformed into customer value through an integrated value chain for green hydrogen, green iron, and near-zero emission steel. At its fully integrated plant in Boden, Sweden, renewable electricity powers one of Europe's largest electrolyzers to produce green hydrogen on-site, eliminating the need for coal in the direct reduction of iron ore. The result is steel with up to 95% lower CO₂ emissions compared with conventional ore-based steelmaking. Beyond decarbonizing production, the integrated approach creates value for customers by enabling low-emission products without compromising quality or performance, helping industries such as automotive, construction, and manufacturing reduce their Scope 3 emissions. This presentation explores how large-scale green hydrogen connects renewable electricity to high-value industrial products, enabling fossil-free iron and steel production while creating measurable value for customers working to reduce the carbon footprint of their supply chains.
