Name
C - Critical Raw Materials value chain in Latin America & the Caribbean
Description

Global demand for critical raw materials is rising rapidly, driven by the energy transition, digitalisation and the growth of high-tech industries. Latin America plays a strategic role due to its abundant reserves of essential materials such as lithium, copper and rare earth elements.

This breakout session will explore key developments, opportunities and avenues for collaboration in the sector, with a particular focus on the Netherlands’ role in global value chains and the development of sustainable supply chains. The embassies of Bolivia and Chile will share their vision for the future of the sector and highlight investment and cooperation opportunities in their countries. In addition, Thomas van Vliet, sector specialist at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), and Felix Quartero from the Latin America regional business development team at the Dutch Embassy in Santiago de Chile will discuss market developments, trade promotion and opportunities for Dutch companies in this rapidly evolving sector.
