Africa sits on some of the world's best renewable energy resources, yet clean energy investment on the continent remains a fraction of what's needed. This session moves past the hype to look at where the real, near-term opportunity lies: grid stabilisation and off-grid/commercial solar in markets facing acute power shortages, the decarbonisation of energy-intensive industry, and a candid assessment of which green hydrogen corridors are genuinely progressing versus stalled. Drawing on the Netherlands' existing efforts, from Invest International's direct project financing to RVO's energy-access programmes and the Netherlands' recent accession to South Africa's Just Energy Transition Partnership, the session identifies concrete entry points for Dutch private sector expertise in engineering, project finance, and grid/storage technology, and names the specific countries where that expertise is most wanted right now. Countries of Focus: South Africa, Namibia, Egypt, Morocco, Kenya
Moderator: Núria Vlonk-Cunha Soares, Managing Director at the Netherlands-African Business Council (NABC)
