Africa's population is growing faster than almost anywhere on earth, and meeting future food demand will require a roughly 75% increase in production by 2050, on land that is 95% rain-fed and dominated by subsistence farming. The Netherlands has spent decades perfecting high-yield, resource-efficient, resilient production on limited land, but the opportunity in Africa isn't simply exporting that mode; it's co-developing seed systems, regenerative practices and value chains suited to local and regional markets, not only export ones. This session brings together Dutch knowledge institutions, seed breeders and agri-value-chain companies already active on the continent to explore where regenerative agriculture, locally adapted seed varieties, and horticultural value-chain development can meaningfully strengthen African food systems and where Dutch private sector partnership is most needed and most welcome. Countries of Focus: Egypt, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Mozambique, Rwanda / South Africa / Algeria
